Taking the Redness out of a Pimple

If you are looking vehemently to find out some effective ways to take redness out of pimples instantly, you have reached the right page. Pimples are mainly caused due to bacterial infections and all of us suffer or have suffered from regular acne or occasional breakouts. So, here are a few tips that can be very helpful to reduce the redness of the pimples instantly. Read on..

  • Apply ice: Ice can work great to reduce the redness of pimples.  Do not apply the ice cube on the pimple, rather take a few ice cubes in a clean cotton cloth and dab the cloth on the pimples. Ice slows down the local blood circulation, which in turn reduces the swelling and redness.
  • Use eye drops: Eye drops contain a compound named tetra-hydrozoline hydrochloride which has the property to reduce redness. Application of a drop of eye drop on the pimples can clear up the redness instantly.
  • Apply some toothpaste: Application of toothpaste on the pimples can reduce the redness of pimples and can also help in drying it out. Use only the white basic toothpaste. Do not use gel toothpastes or toothpastes with fluoride, which can harm your skin. Cover the pimple with toothpaste and leave it for several hours or overnight. Peel off the dried toothpaste after the stipulated time and follow your CTM routine. Toothpastes contain silica, which helps in drying out pimple by killing bacteria.
  • Apply tea bags: Green tea contains a number of antioxidants which are believed to have anti-bacterial property. Use of a mildly warm green tea bag on the pimples can be helpful to reduce the redness. Heat up some water and dip a green tea bag into it. Check the temperature; it should be only mildly hot. Put this tea bag on the pimples and leave at least for 30 minutes before washing off with cold water.
  • Use Aspirin: Using Aspirin on the pimples can be helpful to restrict the redness of pimples. Aspirin contains salicylic acid which is often used in topical ointments formulated to treat acne. The compound suppresses the inflammation by restricting an enzyme which is responsible for the inflammation and redness.  Take a few Aspirin tablets, crush them and mix with a little water to make a smooth paste. Apply the paste on the pimples and leave it at least for 30 minutes.

The above mentioned ways are quite effective to take redness out of pimples instantly; but they should not be used as a regular measure to fight acne, as prolonged use of the above methods might be harmful for the skin in the long run.
